This 1% Blogging Army has truly impressed me as a powerful community of Canadian blogging advocates and influencers. Here are just some of the ideas pulled together on this movement:
- Kate Trgovac at My Name is Kate has developed a feed for the host of us
- I've been able to pull together a 1% Blogging Army Wiki so that we can keep this going as a community resource - ADD YOUR COMMENTARY, LINKS AND ADDITIONAL BLOGS NOW
- Martin Breton has served up the idea sited in the my Power 150 post of doing a ranked list of the blogs based on Technorati, Google and Bloglines metrics
- Michael O'Connor Clarke has the great idea of widgeting this onto member's sites - hopefully there is someone keen out there to code that up
Others have served up the idea of:
- a virtual meetup
- a Google Map reference of where we all are
- a community initiative to use all of our collective resources on a non-profit project
- an adopt-a-blogger or adopt a global friend to expand our army's the circle of influence (I think this is like Risk where we eventually take over the world except Australia)
- A Second Life meeting of Canadian bloggers
- A LinkedIn community
Unfortunately, my day job of running a company prohibits me from getting stuck too far past the knees on these efforts...so a message to the army "to you with failing hands, I throw the torch, be yours to hold it high" - I look forward to developments on this soon.
